So it’s been a while. We have been busy in the studio the last two weeks so have failed to get some new blog content out. Given, that’s a bad excuse, cause we definitely had enough time to do a blog. Anyway, the past is the past, time to move forward.
So the last two weeks for us have been crazy. Late nights, no schedule, just rolling with the punches and trying to get stuff done. I’m the kind of person that thrives on schedules. I think I’ve told you that before. I like to sit down on Sunday night and plan out my whole week, almost to the minute. It gives me a vision, it gives me a strong sense of moving forward as I head into the week. So I got up early (earlier than normal) this morning and spent some time with God (which I highly suggest for anyone who hasn’t tried it). As God does, He hit me with a scripture to give me a new start this week. Listen to this!
“I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.”
The Holy Spirit whispered to my heart as I read and prayed through this scripture. He reminded me that what Jesus did for me was enough. No matter how scattered or undisciplined my last two weeks had been, I wasn’t able to take anything away from God’s love for me, and the beautiful salvation that I find in Him! In the same way, it doesn’t matter how well I do this week. I can’t add anything to what Christ has done. This is where freedom steps in and shines the brightest. The reason I will excel, try my hardest and give my all to worship Christ this week is because it can’t change how much He loves me.
I hope you find freedom in that this week. I know it can be easy for some people, myself included, to think that how good or bad our week is will impact His love for us. But the truth is that it doesn’t. Nothing you do or don’t do can add or take away from the work of Jesus in your life. He made a way for you to come to the Father, Jesus gave YOU the right to be called a child of God and receive every gift and privilege that comes with being HIS child!
Also take a look at that last verse. “God seeks what has been driven away!” Maybe it was some sin in your life that has driven you away. Maybe you got really busy and it caused you to be driven far from Him. Be confident and know that GOD IS SEEKING YOU OUT! There is no better time than right now to let Him find you today. It’s as easy as beginning the conversation with Him and following as He leads you to repentance.
Do you find it easy to think less of yourself when you’re not doing great? Ask the Holy Spirit to come and speak to your heart today. Let him talk to you about His affection for you, and hold you close as you come back to Him and live your life from that place of love!
